Background
Chrysara was founded by Alicia Van Doorn in Manila and named for her two children, Christopher and Sara.
Alicia heads the creative direction of the company, which is inspired by design and creative trends from around the globe. As the founder and former artistic director of Ballet Philippines, a world-renowned dance company, Alicia is now happily channeling her creative energy into developing high quality original products across a wide array of styles and genres. Her daughter Sara has joined the Chrysara team, working from New York as the director of marketing, sales and customer service. Her son, Chris, is a director and is involved in marketing and corporate strategy.
Employees
Chrysara is an employee-oriented company built on the belief that our people are our primary assets. We take great pride in their professional growth and tremendous contributions to our continuing success.
Chrysara actively promotes the careers of its current and former employees. The company supports continuing education for employees in a variety of areas including language-learning, product design and computer technology.
We are also happy to see employees pursue their dreams beyond Chrysara. Chrysara has helped many of our former employee-artisans establish their own operations. Over the years, our “family” of companies has grown to include wood-working, tinsmith and resin-casting factories as well as a bakery and a dry-goods store.
